Partner with us
We are looking for landowners, estates or farmers to partner with us. Read on below or get in touch.
“We first had outdoor pigs on the farm five years ago and we’ve been very pleased with the results.
We provide the straw, which is baled and carted for us by North Farm Livestock, and receive muck back. The pigs add fertility to the fields they’re on, which has added visible benefit to the subsequent crops.
Personally, I have enjoyed the improvement in biodiversity with more lapwings, starlings and snipe on the uncultivated pig fields.
North Farm Livestock have always carried out their work with the utmost professionalism and I look forward to working with them for many more years”
Jono Darby, Farm Manager, Albanwise Farming Ltd
Why partner with us?
We will have a positive impact on your land
Many of our partners use our pigs as their ‘break crop’. The fields are rested, the pigs provide lots of organic matter, and our team return the land ready for your next crop.
We will discuss our setup with you, your objectives with the land we’re on and how you want the land returned to you.
We are working across our supply chain to work in a way which benefits the land we farm on and the environment we farm in. We will discuss how we can improve biodiversity, benefit the soil and manage water sustainably on your site.
We are award-winning market leaders
Supplying into Pilgrim’s Europe, our free-range pigs are on the shelves of national retailers and restaurant tables across the UK.
Having won Farmer’s Weekly Pig Farmer of the Year in 2019, our staff are regular recipients of sector-wide and supply-chain specific awards.
In 2023, one of our team won Stockperson of the Year at the National Pig Awards and we were shortlisted for Innovation of the Year for our work on welfare-improving vaccine races.
We provide a competitive and consistent income
Ahead of agreeing a licence, we agree an annual rent with our partners which we pay in twelve monthly instalments. We also agree billing for water, electricity and any other utilities up front.
We are supported by a global leader in food production, JBS, which is the world’s largest meat processor. Their senior team are invested in the continued growth of our business.
We are a partnership for the long-term
Not only are we farming for the future, but our business is built for it. With two generations involved, we can commit to long-term partnerships with confidence.
We are committed to supporting local businesses and ensuring the community that surrounds our operation is built to last.
“North Farm Livestock have been on Bayfield since I started my farming career in 1994.
They have always been a pleasure to work with and have contributed enormously to the profitable farming of this light land estate.”
Roger Combe, Owner, Bayfield Estate
What do we need from our partners?
We need light land for two to three years
We are looking for free-draining land which we can be on for between 2-3 years as part of your rotation. We will discuss with you when we can access the land and when you need it returned.
We need a base for infrastructure
We need a space where we can place a concrete pad to host our feed silos and access to water, either via mains or borehole.
We want your trust & transparency
We want you to talk to us and trust us to act. If you’ve got an opportunity, an idea or a problem, we will be at the end of the phone.
We need a strategy for straw
On most of our sites we operate on a straw-for-muck basis. You will have an assigned operational lead to speak to during harvest and our team bale, chase and cart the straw. On sites where this is not possible, we would agree a strategy with you.
We want to build strategic partnerships
As part of our ‘Farming for Nature’ strategy we are looking to discuss your sustainability and environmental strategy. We may be discussing how to support biodiversity on the land, how we can support with soil health or how we need to manage water on your land.
